Hardware Jewelry: Washer and Embroidery Floss Necklace

I've been very eager to make this project ever since I laid eyes on it in Pinterest. It seemed easy to do and won't cost me much since I have some of the materials already. It just needs washers (the sizes of your choice), embroidery floss (colors/shades of your choice), an old necklace with a lobster lock, embroidery needle, clear super glue, and, as is required of all crafting activities, a lot of patience and creavitity.

First, I laid out the washers to a design of my choice and traced them on a piece of paper and colored it to just get a preview of what it would look like.

Then I started wrapping each washer with the floss, securing the ends on the washer with super glue.

Afterwards I connected them all with yellow floss. To finish it off I used the chain of an old fancy necklace I don't use anymore...

I thought it would be nice to have a pair of earrings to match. So I made.

Warning: Very tedious and time-consuming to make!  This project squeezed out all of my patience in wrapping, since I wrapped the thread twice over.

But when I saw my finished project, I was very satisfied.  Next time, if ever I get to make one again, I would first wrap the connecting threads to the washers so they would be concealed beneath the top threads...
